Each day comes and teaches us new things. Good and Bad...both. But with each setting sun, a hope to see the dawn arises. And it continues. That is how life is! Never give up hope. And for me, I have begun posting here in the hope to create a great mileu to be able to learn from life and know myself better. Taking life as it comes each day..Au Jour Le Jour!

Iffy goes the Jiffy way
The entire morning yesterday was filled with sheer anxiety. I wanted to scream, laugh, cry, think, speak...what not. But then finally took control of myself. Ate amazing aloo matar and chawal made by a close friend. Got ready and headed straight to school.............Destination Ultimato. Kavz helped me set up the senario. A few hiccups give by the oldie projector. Tik tik tik...the clock struck two. And then it was thrilling roller coaster ride through 60 plus slides. 3:30 pm saw the finito of the defence and it did seem that time just slided and glided in thin air. :) What I had anticipated to be iffy hours went in a jiffy leaving me ecstatic and relieved. Phew!!...Its done. Its finally over.
Celebrated the evening...chittering chattering..listening to jokes and pjs. Thoroughly enjoyed it. And then dined out with a few close friends. Called up my parents and Bri in India. Had a hearty talk.
The highlight of the conversation quickly shifted on to the heavy rains lashing mumbai. Gosh...record rainfall of 37 inches in a day...beating the record of Cherapunji. That did leave me awestricken. Neck deep waters at the Sahar Airport. Cars merged in water. Ppl spending the night and day in their offices and cars. No electricity. No cell fones working....How much more frustrating and scary can it be ??? Baroda, Mumbai....what next..this thought jitters me enough. God help those ppl stuck in flooded areas.
As of today...just chilling. :D

Truely A Stunner.....
In this sentence the Nth word is N letters long. e. g. 3rd word is 3 letters long, 8th word is 8 letters long and so on.
Phew !!! The person who formulated the above sentence must be a vocab wizard !!!
Movie update: Saw Maine Pyaar Kyon Kiya. Awesome time pass. As they say for a David Dhawan comedy, 'Leave your thinking caps at home'. And thats what it turned out to be. But for a change.. a fun movie...laughter unlimited. It was as one of the songs in the movie "Just Chill Chillllll". :D

Hush-Rush Day.....
String of events happening since morning - NK's defence, changes in slides, talking to IbA for a while after a long time, lunch in Thai Spice for Dr. McCormick, meeting with advisors (main and co.s)..was already dead tired by now. To add more, Carol says lets go to HongKong market to get the gift and then drop kavs and suru on the main campus. I m like..yeah..and I can get the bond paper too. Argh ! The store guy asked me to come next week. Shucks !! Travelled a long wayyyyy cutting horrible traffic to reach that far away some place and finally managed to get a gift for Khuda (lolz....). Carol dropped me at my apt and on the way picked up the bond paper too from Office depot. I guess I am feeling like a relieved Zombie.
Talking to Dr. McCormick was really nice. Hez leaving next week for Florida. One of the coolest profs in our dept he is !! Thoroughly enjoyed my stint with him as a grad student. And did I forget to mention..He said.."And this lil' cute one Sujata is for sure my best student !!" Ahem..Ahem..lolz.
The best thing that happened today - Tried a straberry-banana tapioca shake. Still have the taste of it in my mouth. Yummy..:D. Never knew tapioca (sabudana..lolz) tastes sweeter and can be enjoyed too. :D
Guess.. I lived today in fast forward.

Earnest Cogitation
My mind was a mirror:
It saw what it saw, it knew what it knew,
In youth my mind was just a mirror,
In a rapidly flying car,
Which catches and loses bits of the landscape.
Then in time
Great scratches were made on the mirror,
Letting the outside world come in,
And letting my inner self look out,
For this is the birth of the soul in sorrow,
A birth with gains and losses.
The mind sees the world as a thing apart,
And the soul makes the world at one with itself,
A mirror scratched reflects no image-
And this is the silence of wisdom.
Found this poem in a small booklet given by Guds. Worth pondering.
Btw,
If-then-do Else-do commands don't work in life. Life's not a program.
And whatta beautiful weather outside :)

A Toast to Squeaky !!
Squeaky defended her thesis today !!! Yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....the way she had worked for the past coupla weeks was really amazing. Nonstop !! I used to get tired even thinking of that. lolz. Couldn't be more happy for her. The journey since yesterday wasn't easy though. Jinxed totally...to enlist some jinxes...PC crash, USB crash, Printer jammed, no laptop, bad projector....argh..enough now. A few breath-taking moments in the grilling by the committee was followed by happy-approval-garnered finito to the morning. She was sooooo relieved and happy. And me too. Next week shez flying back and a new life awaits her there..should I say eagerly..lolz. Gonna miss her..always. A toast to her !!

Narcoleptic Me
Aye ppl, a lazy lazy day. Actually, didnot entirely go futile, accomplished something, but still lagging behind schedules. Argh. Nay, can't do much about it. Its just one of those lazy days, where you feel u want to go hibernating and sleep for aeons.
In pharmacological terms, its Narcolepsy. Brief attacks of deep sleep. Yeah, the complete opposite of Insomnia. So, those who thought insomnia was a trouble....beat narcolepsy. In insomnia, you can atleast do something, right?
Lets see, what I can do now..have still left some lazy hours.

Conversation or Confusion...? Part II
Telephone conversation between William Knott and Mr Watt :
.........................................................
"Who's calling?" was the answer to the telephone.
"Watt."
"What is your name, please?"
"Watt's my name."
"That's what I asked you. What's your name?"
"That's what I told you. Watt's my name."
A long pause, and then from Watt, "Is this James Brown?"
"No, this is Knott."
"Please tell me your name."
"Will Knott."
YOU LEFT THE TALKERS AT A POINT WHERE THEY WERE TOTALLY CONFUSED,READ THE REST OF WHAT HAPPENED...
"Why not?"
"Huh? What do you mean why not?"
"Yeah! Why won't you tell me your name?"
"But I told you my name!"
"Didn't you say you will not?"
"Not not, knott, Will Knott!"
"That's what I mean."
"So you know my name."
"Of course not!"
"Good. So now, what is yours?"
"Watt. Yours?"
"Your name!"
"Watt's my name."
"How the hell do I know? I am asking you!"
"Look I have been very patient and I have told you my name and you
have not even told me yours yet.."
"You have been patient, what about me?"
"I have told you my name so many times and it is u who have not told
me yours yet."
"Of course not!"
"See, you even know my name!"
"Of course not!"
"Then why do you keep saying of course Knott?"
"Because I don't."
[Pause]
"What is your name?"
"See, you know my name!"
"Of course not!"
"Then why do you keep saying Watt is your name"
"To find out your name!"
"But you already know it!"
"What?"
"See, and you know mine!"
"Of course not!"
"Exactly!"
NOW THEY ARE AT A POINT WHERE BOTH THINK THE OTHER KNOWS THEIR NAME, BUT THEY THEMSELVES DON'T KNOW THE OTHER'S NAME.
"Listen, listen, wait; if I asked you what your name is, what will be
your answer?"
"Watt's my name."
"No, no, give me only one word."
"Watt"
"Your name!"
"Right!"
[Pause before it hits him]
"Oh, Wright!"
"Yeah!"
"So why didn't you say it before?"
"I told you so many times!"
"You never said Wright before"
"Of course I did."
"Ok I won't argue any more. Do you know my name?"
"I do not."
"Well, there you go, now we know each other's name."
"I do not!"
"Good!"
[Pause before it hits him]
"Oh, Guud!"
"Good."
"No wonder, it took me so long, is that Dutch?"
"No, it's Knott!"
"Oh, okay. At least the names are clear now Guud."
"Yes Wright."

Rain Rain....:)
Little Johny Wants To Play !! ....remember this nursery rhyme?
Getting drenched in the rain is sucha pure joy..simply ethereal. Yes, beating the sorching sun is ofcourse soothing. But who can beat the fresh smell of the wet sand as if nascent from the nature's womb. The little drops from the heaven drizzling down and making the air thicker and heavier. The greens become more greener, brighter, and exude a radiance of happiness.
"Bheega bheega mausam, bheega sa aasman....hulchul se man mein, ho rahi har pal yahaan."
Whenever it rains, a feeling sinks in. Dunno why. Its different. One such rain incident, i remember vividly. Tracing down the memory lanes, back to last week of July 2003, I had already graduated with a degree in Pharmacy. To garner it, also got a visa for the US of A. I still remember, the memories are as fresh as it happened today. :) I had gone to the department to get a certificate. And since it was my last week in the India, some of goodie friends - 3Ps, Root2, Neat,SK and DI, were there to meet me for the last time. After cherishing our past four years, as we were to depart, suddenly it became dark and started to rain. We all just stood there and gazed. All of us felt something. Something emotional and touching. Instead of drifting apart, we stood there holding hands. Slowly as the clattering of the rain drops increased, we all felt that sheer joy, our moment of eternity, and rejoiced by dancing around. It was late in the evening and noone was there on the entire campus. We did all masti, dhamaal, and fun and...... It was amazing. We all cherish those moments even now. :)

Are We Not Done Yet...??
Just came across some article which spoke about how confused we Indians seem to be right now. They spoke about some ads in matrimonials. One of the sentences used was 'I am Indian by values and Western by thought'. Now, what does this mean? Are we confused in what we are? Where are we, when it comes to knowing, understanding, living, and respecting our identities? For god sake, leave yourself alone, and be what you are !! In presenting ourselves to the world, aren't we getting more confused, getting deeper into the quicksand of morally being acceptable and wanted ? Common..grow up ppl. I mean...just a thought....aren't we done yet ??
As for the independence day long-weekend, 'twas lazier than usual but seemed shorter :D..lolz. Did nothing..I mean absolutely nothing. Felt better though. :P Lazed around chatting with my roommate. Also, added "Paheli" to the movie marathon. Zimbly fandasdic...ya ya..call it a girly girly mushy mushy movie..but 'twas a nice cute movie with really praise-worthy direction. Also, downloaded it and saw twice already :D
Thesis Update Time once again. Having a nice time, finishing up all the thesis-related work. Ya, chapters and other stuff. But I swear on God, I hate formatting. And yes, I hate Word too. Its sucha pain, putting all your hardwork together just to see that the formatting is no longer there. Err...yeah, for 100 pages...its a lot !!!!! After hours of toil, finally gained control o'er that. Viola'.
Treated myself with a Pepsi-cola (the desi one) if you know what I mean. :D
Amazingly funny. If you are looking for a total timepass, check this thing out !! There are the cartoon scripts too incase you wanna read. Click here: FRUSTRATED FOAMY
My personal favourite would be "Foamy's Rant IV".

Usual Day Random Thoughts
Here are couple of contradictory thoughts I came across several days ago :- "Never deprive someone of hope, it might be the only thing that they have" and "Hope is a good companion but a poor guide". Do we get thoughts in a combo ?? Can we have a balance of both ?? I mean, we cannot just distribute hope as a freebie, and create a fake mileu for somebody, if that ain't gonna happen. Sometimes for that matter we ourself think that ohhh we should be optimistic and do fool ourselves. Whatever happens....happens for good. Take it that way. The best and the hardest thing I guess is to strike a balance between 'Being optimistic, having hope, knowing the pragmatic reality, and doing what should be done". It seems like a recipe, everytime a different taste, but prepared in a same way by the same person.
Apart from that...once again today was a movie weekend. Saw Batman and The longest yard. Did my work and regular chores. Guess I did accomplish everything today..yeaa.
Btw....I also met Neo and Morpheus yesterday !! Hell Ya..Saw Matrix !!!
Wanna just say to myself now : "Free your mind, know thyself !!"..:P and please stop thinking :)).
