Iffy goes the Jiffy way
Aye ppl...my judgement day gave me dulcet news of thesis approval. Wow..............what a relief it is after I am done with my Thesis Defence. I had been waiting for this day since two years. :D Now that its gone.....the feeling will take some more days to sulk in. Looking back on yesterday I feel that it was exactly not like defence-defence but more like a presentation and discussion. Professors and students all gelled in discussion rather than in a round of questions. Few questions...long discussion...and then recommendations. After that followed some serious grilling by the committee and finally the approval. But ofcourse..with some changes. :) I have to submit the binded copies of the thesis till 15th of August. So no time to relax...although I m feeling utterly butterly relaxed..and more or so Lazy. :D Herez one quotation that I remember, "The time to relax is when there is no time for it !!" :D
The entire morning yesterday was filled with sheer anxiety. I wanted to scream, laugh, cry, think, speak...what not. But then finally took control of myself. Ate amazing aloo matar and chawal made by a close friend. Got ready and headed straight to school.............Destination Ultimato. Kavz helped me set up the senario. A few hiccups give by the oldie projector. Tik tik tik...the clock struck two. And then it was thrilling roller coaster ride through 60 plus slides. 3:30 pm saw the finito of the defence and it did seem that time just slided and glided in thin air. :) What I had anticipated to be iffy hours went in a jiffy leaving me ecstatic and relieved. Phew!!...Its done. Its finally over.
Celebrated the evening...chittering chattering..listening to jokes and pjs. Thoroughly enjoyed it. And then dined out with a few close friends. Called up my parents and Bri in India. Had a hearty talk.
The highlight of the conversation quickly shifted on to the heavy rains lashing mumbai. Gosh...record rainfall of 37 inches in a day...beating the record of Cherapunji. That did leave me awestricken. Neck deep waters at the Sahar Airport. Cars merged in water. Ppl spending the night and day in their offices and cars. No electricity. No cell fones working....How much more frustrating and scary can it be ??? Baroda, Mumbai....what next..this thought jitters me enough. God help those ppl stuck in flooded areas.
As of today...just chilling. :D

More than 37 inches of rain, and much of it falling over just a few hours is scary. Next time I go to mumbai, I shall carry my swimming trunks with me. :)
